OK, so let's get down to business. I started to write when I was 12. First came the poetry (which I'm still churning out to this day). Then came the essays, when I found out about the web and how easy it was to make it a good avenue for self-expression. Later on, I tried short stories... Right now (1999) I am still striving to express myself as best I can, and BABYLON9000 is one of my finest efforts as far as web-design is concerned. (I am an amateur -- and by that I also mean this is an amatory exertion) This website intends to showcase my horror-oriented writing, which I hope 'passers-by' will enjoy.

As it is, my poor talents have always been scattered all over the World Wide Web, and I may add links to my other web-babies in the near future (ONE home-page is not enough for me; having a lot of dissimilar interests, I must find outlets for them all).

What I want right now is what a million others also want: to establish myself as a writer. What sets me apart, however, is that I'm trying to do it by using a language which is NOT my own. For the record, I am Portuguese, born and raised, and still reside in that little country, Portugal (I can hardly wait to get out -- and everyone tells me I should). I've got a knack for languages; why not use it?

BABYLON9000 exists because of my preference for gloom and horror in the arts...
so now you know. In due time, I will post my favorite hyperlinks, and you'll know more about me through my taste for the outr. The old. The forgotten. The lasting.

With that in mind, enjoy my writing, and in case you've got a job for me, don't forget to drop me a line. I've got a lot of stuff that is just begging to be published.

Oh, and in case you need a translator, or know someone who needs one... I know Portuguese and plenty of Spanish, besides English.
